Listening to: Be Ok by Ingrid Michaelson
I can't believe I've neglected my blog for so long! I guess I forgot it has feelings too... :(
Needless to say, it's been a CRAZY last couple of months. Between speech, homework, college decisions, it's been quite the ride. I've been stressed, but man oh man, I have a lot to update you all on!
GUYS. PROM. IS. IN. A. WEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!! Hey, I didn't go to prom last year, so I have all the more reason to be excited, okay? Don't judge. :) I figured out what I'm doing with my hair, I'm getting my nails done, and I'm SOOOO PUMPED! Everything with my group is figured out (even though it was rocky at times) and I know we're all ready to partay! It's going to be great, and I can't wait! By this time in a week, I'll be all dolled up and getting ready to go take pictures with my group of 40. :) Yay!
As you've seen all over Facebook, I've decided to attend Concordia College - Moorhead in the fall and I am beyond excited. St. Olaf didn't work out like I thought it would and I ruled out Luther in January, so I know that Concordia will be the right place for me. I participated in the high school honor band when I was up there two weekends ago and it solidified that I want to study Instrumental Music Education at Concordia! :) I seriously cannot wait for college, though. With graduation being less than 50 days away, I'm ready to get out of high school. So. Ready.
Speech season is over, and I'm in denial about it. Okay, I'm going to admit something...and band kids, I don't want you to freak out...but...
Speech > Band
I want to be a music major, we all know this. But speech has meant so much to me this season and it has been so special to me. I'm going to miss my team more than anything. I'll get to thinking about One Hen, Raptors drinking tea, and all of the other memories and I know it'll make me miss everyone all the more. Luckily for me, Concordia has a speech team, so speech isn't necessarily out of my life yet! The coaches have been lifesavers (literally) and my biggest role models and it'll be amazing to be able to keep in touch with them once I'm off at Concordia.
Anywho, I should probably get going! I'm heading out to dinner tonight with my best friend and his German exchange student, so that should be a lot of fun! :)
Much love,
Annie :) <3

CRAZY.
OH MY GOSH. I haven't blogged in SO long!
I've been really really busy, and I really miss doing this, but hey, life goes on.
Speech has been going really well! I've been placing consistently, and am OFFICIALLY a member of the National Forensics League as of January! Yes...you read that right...i'm a member of the NFL. hahaha :)
I got the scholarship at Concordia Moorhead and am ecstatic about it! I have my audition at Olaf Friday and am superrrrrrr nervous!
But I'll blog sometime soon, I'm really tired and plan on taking a nap ;)
Much love,
Annie

hey hey :)
i've been super super SUPER busy! it's ridiculous. and then in the process, I ended up getting super sick and right now, i can barely talk.
but in the process, I took fifth place in informative finals and 4th place in poetry honor finals at speech yesterday! so now my voice is COMPLETELY shot. but it's okay, cause it was worth it :)
Now I have two days off of school and I plan on spending it at work tomorrow and then from there, with people who matter most :)
I got tickets to go see Mayer Hawthorne in May, so that's exciting too!
I slept until 2 pm today...that was exciting...ahahaha oh my god I'm just RAMBLING.
Anyways, I'll post either tomorrow or the day after with more updates from the last couple of weeks!
Much love,
Annie :)

Best. Weekend. Ever.
Seriously, I couldn't be happier right now. :)
Friday night was the Woodbury/East Ridge basketball game, and it was seriously one of the highlights of my senior year! We ended up beating Woodbury by one point, and it was AMAZING. I know all the Woodbury kids are bitter about it, but hey, it's just a game!
When I got home from the game, I baked a red velvet cake for the speech meet, in celebration of my coach and my previous English teacher are having a BABY! We are all just so excited for them, so I figured that it would be fitting to make a cake! Except I was up until midnight making it and had to wake up at 4:45 on Saturday morning...
Then Saturday...well Saturday was awesome. We had the speech meet at Apple Valley, which was the toughest meet we go to through the season. I ended up making finals and placed 7th out of 8 finalists for informative. Yes, I know what you're thinking...7th? That kinda sucks, doesn't it? NO. NOT ONE BIT. Because I was up against some really great competition and my regular round scores were awesome, one of which included a perfect score of a 1100! (1st place, 100 points) So it was a really wonderful day. Then some of us went to Applebee's and then a friend's house. So all in all, I ran on four hours of sleep on Saturday and ended up having a super long day.
Then today...today was wonderful. We had rehearsal for our SEC band with a director from Luther and he was SO fun to work with. To me, it's so great to be able to come together with a group of kids my age who all are there for the same reason: to make wonderful music. Oh, and it also kind of helps that I got asked to prom today at rehearsal..... :)
Alright, well, I should probably get ready for bed, since I have a 14 hour day of music making ahead of me tomorrow at SEC! I'll post after tomorrow :)
Much love,
Annie

Mayer of the city called my heart.
Okay, I'm weird. I'm going to just start out by saying this statement. (Come on, it's not like you didn't know this about me)
I have a new obsession...and his name is Mayer Hawthorne
Yeah, okay, you're probably like, WHAT IS SHE TALKING ABOUT.
Guys. When he sings, it is definitely not what you'd think. I first heard his song "The Walk" on Cities97 and got his CD from a friend today and I'm definitely hooked! He's got that bluesy/R&B sound and it's just pure pleasure to the ears.
Here's a link to my favorite song. :)
Enjoy :)
Much love,
Annie

Love my speech family :)
We had our team's second meet today - and it went super well! A lot of us on the team placed, and I made finals for informative! I was super super happy, and wasn't expecting it. The best part about it was that I had straight ones in my regular rounds! It was definitely a huge pick me up from the night I had last night.
Needless to say, it was what I needed to happen to pick up my spirits. It was just a really great day today spent with really great people :) And a crazy freaking night!
As for now, I'm heading to just RELAX before a concert at church tomorrow afternoon! TENTH. AVENUE. NORTH. OH MY GOSH I'M SO EXCITED!!!
I'll catch you up on how Concordia went later!!
Much love,
Annie

-I GOT CALLED FOR A LIVE AUDITION AT ST OLAF!!! aka my dream school :) so that's another thing I'm really excited about
-We had our first speech meet last weekend. I didn't do as well as I'd hoped, but hey, it's only the first meet! Only room to grow from here :)
